Keeping the powder dry

Well no blog bets today and maybe none tommorrow, just been going back over recent bets to see where i have been going wrong. Will be posting replies to comments when i get a chance work has been very hectic.

hopefully can start finding some more decent priced winners, will update account soon just about level i think. the football is just around the corner and tends to be quite profitable for me so tempted to wait a while, but saying that when i look at the cards something could pop up.

will update

Fw: Bets placed for Goodwood & Galway

Wednesday looks a little tricky at Goodwood, i feel we may be in for some shocks, Galway as always is interesting.  Going to go back down to some more socially acceptable stakes it also takes the pressure off my heart.  Increasing the stakes when you are sure a horse will win is one thing but to keep doing it day after day is another.

so with that in mind the selections are as follows:-

14.10 Goodwood - Som Tala  14/1 stan james  £50 ew- Good jockey booking, channons horses going well, won the plate last time out, sure to like the ground, top weight slight worry but at the odds looks a good e/w bet.

14.45 Goodwood - Dreamspeed.  6/1 £100 ew Blue Square I liked the way in which the horse won last time, it looked to be staying on strongly after a bad start, surely there will be more to come.  balding is a good trainer for getting his horses ready for the big occassions

16.00 Goodwood - Barwell Bridge.  20/1 £50 ew Blue Square Horse has good place and win stats, s.kirk is a trainer i like, was beaten by cosmic sun but at the odds looks inviting for an each way punt.  I also think he will like the ground

16.25 Galway -Roby De Chimbre 9/2 Corals £500 win- I think Paul Nicholls does not just cross the irish sea for the guiness and whiskey, this horse has been laid out for this, just like the one he sent last year.  I believe it has the best chance of the horses lisetd above the odds are short considering the sixe of the field but i will make it the nap of the day and lump on.  Another one in the race i like is OOdachee 20/1 Corals £50ew, course and distance winner at the odds its definatley worth a small e/w punt, so i'll hav at on OOdachee

PS Also just realised on OBLG that if iam not putting up the same stakes for my tips as per the blog then the figures looked skewed.  i will from now on post my tips on there in the following format.

if i bet £250 on here it will be £25 on OBLG if i bet £500 on here it will be £50 on oblg you get the drift.  I will try my best to match stakes on oblg but if i fancy a large bet then my balance on oblg may not allow.  I want oblg to reflect whats the blog shows. Please feel free to check as all tips are advised on there just stakes are different.

Phew - what a day

I can tell you i was sweating after that first race when William Blake should have got 3rd place if not better, not a great ride. However things picked up after that and were back in profit. Looking at the cards for tommorrow now so might be posting up later.

I have altered the blog slighty and posted a summary of all the bets placed so far. they are all refererenced on OBLG. the smarter ones will notice that the stakes i advise on here are sometimes not the same as OBLG this is beacuse you have a balance on OBLG that you cant exceed, however all bets put up on here are evidenced on OBLG.

In terms of posting up screenshots i'd rather not. two reasons, i use a range of peoples betting accounts and secondly i like to bet in cash when its possible. If you dont believe me then fair enough, hope you enjoy reading the blog and when its showing a large profit i'll await your kind words!!!!!

Good Luck

Glorious Goodwood & Galway

When you re having a bad run its important to remember that you need to keep your cool and focus and don't worry about losing more money. As soon as the thoughts of losing more money cross your mind you end up looking for shorter priced horses that you hope will get you some sort of return. Now I'm not one for constantly looking for value, if i like a horse i will back it even at 2/5. lets hope i can find a few winners tommorrow

I'm going to put some decent sized bets so turn away now, if youre not up for the fight. ive been wounded, but ive reloaded and iam ready to strike!!!!!

2.10pm Goodwood - William Blake- 9/1 Stan James £500ew

Bottom weight - won over the distance - won on good/soft - decent jockey/ trainer - good current form - great e/w value

2.40pm Goodwood -Harbinger - 2/1 William Hill - £2000 win

Lightley raced, looks progressive, great turn of foot at chester, yard in fine form. I would say it cant get beat if i was flying but i think it will win 98% confidence

3.25pm Goodwood -Ouqba - 11/2 Ladbrokes £250ew

the horse won the jersey, the word coming from the hills team is that this horse has bags of class and at 11/2 looks a cracking e/w bet for me.

4pm Goodwood - Archers Road - 14/1 Paddy Power £250 ew

The talking horse of the day will be Monsuier Cevaliiar, but it likes to come late and IMO i dont think this will be as easy as the last race, it got the breaks. Does nobody rember the horse leading in the last furlong. Archers Road should have got closer, the improvement will come, hopefully a different strategy will be employed by the jockey and the booking of ryan moore gives me a little confidence.

So thats £4000 by my reckoning over half my balance, lets hope iam celebrating tommorrow night

Good luck

Lea

It goes from BAD to fucking BAD

Good God

£2000 grand in one night, gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a bad run, i started with so much enthusiasm, maybe i was just expecting the winners to just keeping popping up, i certaintley wasnt expecting over 90% losing bets.

I am going to have to turn this around and quick. Glorious Goodwood maybe the place to start although i,m contemplating having a week off with the results i'm having.

Even as i write this i keeping changing my mind, thinking i should just take my money and run, arrh to hell with it. i'll begin looking at the cards now, post up later.

i am at the bottom of the cliff now surley it cant get any worse!!!!!!!!!

its time to get serious

not going to well tonight but i like the look of one in the last at Uttoxeter

8.55pm Dunbrody House

£500 each way 8/1

its do or die.

GOING TO GALWAY WITH A GRAND

I love the summer and the big festivals no more so than the Galway festival. Tonight sees the start of the festival and i hope to have found some decent priced winners. No real writeups as iam pushed for time, but all horses have been backed with my money so here goes

5.45 Lady hilingdon 9/1 bet 365 £50ew

8.10 Art Broker 5/2 bet365 £500 win

8.40 New rules 9/4 bet365 £200 win

Plus a £200 double on the 8.10 and 8.40 with above named selections

nothing like spending a grand on a Monday night!!!!!!

Good luck

Thursday 23 July 2009

I wish they were all like that

Night Cru, a win on the board at last!!!! the horse travelled well throughout and only had to break sweat in the last 100 yards or so, i wish they were all that easy to find. good SP as well for those who took it, i didnt. it should have started 2/5 in my book.

Having a look at a few things for the weekend, might post up a selection later. Going away again this weekend so if i dont post anything will update everything on Sunday night.

Fingers crossed for the king george, the selection has been trimmed by a few, notably corals who are 7/2 at 10pm, still get the 5/1 in a few places but i am sure that will be gone by the day.

Good Luck

WHATS GOING ON !!!! - DONT PANIC

whats going on i hear you cry !!!!!!!

believe me its not going to plan. Dont worry when others would panic, i just see the next potential opportunity and it comes in the name of NIGHT CRU. 2.40 WORCESTER.

now this will be an unsually large bet for me and some will say iam chasing losses, not really just think this one will not be beat so i'm lumping on, regardless of my recent tips record. As i'm writing this up early doors so will have to take current odds on betfair of 15/16. i have lodged the bet on oblg but will have to settle for SP.

Why will it not be beat.

1) has by far the best form
2) has tony the legend on board
3) has weight in hand

no need to have fingers crossed - IT WILL WIN

a couple of interesting ones

have looked at the cards early today and like the chances of

Poppy Npenny 14.15 yarmouth - 11/2 betfred.

horse has finished 3rd 3rd last twice and looks to be one that can improve.

£100 ew at 11/2

Ffos Las 16:00 - Charity bell 100/30 betfred

horse has only had a couple of runs looks a class act down in grade - the one to be on

£100 win @ 100/30

good luck

King George Vi And Queen Elizabeth Stakes

I always ponder whether to back antepost, but in the big races the earlier you back the better
IMO as more often than not the price shorterns, unless you are backing the front two in the betting who always tend to be short and then drfit out a little. Anyway enough of that.

I feel at 5/1 with the magic sign. Golden Sword represents good value. I feel the horse is improving, will like the expected good ground and the trainer, his record speaks for itself. Most of the early debate is surrounding Conduit but at best price 7/4 is a little too short IMO. the bookmakers like the talk to be around the Fav so they can keep shortening and then drift out on the day so we cant lay on the exchanges.

So i will take an early punt at £100 ew at 5/1 with Ladbrokes. i will post tip on OBLG for proofing. For those who like to play the excahnges i will put my neck on the line here and personally gaurentee that the 5/1 will be gone by Saturday. I predit 7/2 3/1 on the day, so there may be enough to trade out. but thats not my way. lump on early and fingers crossed

What a great start - NOT

What a great start to my tipping blog. I was hoping to have at least one player placed, but i suppose thats how things go. Only a samll loss and should be recoverable over the next couple of weeks. Was away at the weekend and will be away this weekend so will be positing some tips in advance.

I was tempted to make some additional tips on the golf following the collapse of the three twits, but thats not the way i go about things chucking good money after bad.

I will also be starting a £100 special on saturday to run alongside the tips, basically just for a bit of interest to those who only bet occassionally. I will pick one horse that i feel is likely to give a return.

Over and out will be back with some winners

The Open - Lets get started

So then the Open the 138th.......

The claret jug and all that rubbish,

Tiger Woods is far too short to even consider a punt so we will focus on a couple of golfers with something to prove. I could go on and explain form for those who are interested in that sort of thing but over the years i have learned that whilst those who can talk a good game haven't really got a clue when it comes to betting.

so the chaps in question

Ian Poulter 33/1 (lads/corals) £50.e/w or 0.5points e/w
Ben Curtis 66/1 (lads/ corals)£50. e/w pr 0.5points e/w

Saving the best till last.............

I think that Padraig has a cracking chance maybe cos i backed him last year but at 28/1 with corals i'll take bit of that value so

Padrig Harrington 28/1 (corals) £100 e/w or 1 point e/w

How it will work

I have a balance of £10,000 or 100 points to start.

Stakes will be advised by amount and point so that we can keep track of profit levels/ stake amounts etc etc

Bets will be offered usually a day in advance or a least a few hours.

Odds will be taken via oddschecker.com

I have a selective approach to betting so dont expect bets everyday. I have a life!!!!!!

DAY 1 - The start of the journey

The aim of this blog is simple- to make as much money from gambling in one year as possible. I will post bets/advice on three main sports, Horse Racing - Football - Golf.

My motivation in providing this free service is show people that it is possible to make money from gambling. By the end of the year i hope we are in considerable profit. The service will then become a members only service.

My bets will be posted on here as well as OBLG to allow proofing of results.

I suppose thats it for now, i hope you can come along for the ride. Good Luck

Lea
